7 Spiritual Lessons From Trees

All of my life, I have been luckily surrounded by the spiritual lessons of trees. Whether these were in my yard,  large city parks near my home or now being the lucky owner of an undeveloped forest.

As a child I would play in the forest for hours at a time. I danced with fairies, spoke with elves and Tree Unconditional Love Spiritual Lessons Magical Blessings enjoyed the whinny of unicorns. To me, the forest is a magical place; even now.

This is a place I often go to restore from life’s stressors, let go of anxieties and re-fuel my well. There are times when a very tattered human being enters a forest and a happy, whimsical being leaves.

Tree’s Feelings

Trees have emotions and feelings just like any living person, animal or creature.  Check out the book ” The Hidden Life of Trees: What they feel, How they Communicate- Discoveries From a Secret World  “ * by Peter Wohllenben

The love of a tree is everything!

Japanese Forest Bathing

Shinrin-yoku is a term that means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” This was developed in the 1980’s in Japan for health benefits. According to Dr. Qing Li is the author of  Forest Bathing: How Trees Can Help You Find Health and Happiness.” *

There is mindfulness to Shinrin-yoku.

  • Go to a Forest.
  • Walk slowly.
  • Breathe.
  • Open all your senses.
  • Allow the forest to fill you with oxygen.
  • This is the healing way of Shinrin-yoku Forest Therapy,
the medicine of simply being in the forest.

Meditation with Trees

Please note If you practise yoga then you may know tree pose/Vrksasana.

  • Stand near a tree.
  • Look at a tree.
  • Bring your hands over your heart. Inhale and ask the tree to send your heart love. Exhale
  • Be open to the tree sending you love.
  • Bring your hands into prayer form.
  • Raise one foot up to your knee and hold. If this is difficult, then place your foot near your ankle.
  • Tree Meditation Spiritual Lesson From Trees Magical Blessings Inhale for the count of 7 as you stretch your arms up.
  • Release your hands from one another and sway your arms like a tree in the breeze.
  • Hold for a count of 4.
  • You may keep your eyes open or closed.
  • Bring hands back into prayer form.
  • Exhale for a count of 6 as you lower your arms and rest you prayer hands on your heart.
  • Lower your foot.
  • Repeat on the other side.
  • After you have repeated this on both sides ask: “Tree may I give you a hug?”
  • The tree will most likely say yes. Go give the tree a hug and allow the tree’s energy to hug you.
  • Remain for as long as you need.
  • Please thank the tree before you go. “Thank you dear tree for sharing your love with me.”
  • Last thing, ask the tree if it will be your friend. “Tree will you please be my friend.”

You have meditated with a tree and made a new friend.

7 Spiritual Lessons From Trees

  1. Trees are welcoming. They offer unconditional love.
  2. A tree has a humble beginning. They are planted as a tiny seed and grow into massive beings just like you
  3. Trees are strong, but flexible. A tree needs to be able to sway in the wind or they would surly break. Sway like a tree during stressful moments in life, and you will remain strongly unbroken. Be like a tree who has a strong root system and are flexible: survive and thrive.
  4. Tree Nature Forest They may stand alone, but are connected to their forest. Just as you are an individual; you are also connected in a unified way to the collective consciousness and those around you known and unknown.
  5. Be patient. They do not become their size nor strength overnight It takes years, decades for a tree to grow so large. Patience is divine; God’s in charge and you will receive what you need in divine timing. Many give up just before the miracle occurs.
  6. The woods adapt to their surroundings. Each season is a time for its own beauty.  When fall arrives the leaves change and then let go as they fall away in preparation for the upcoming winter. During winter they add extra layers and when spring arrives they welcome their new growth and then fully showing their full beauty during summer.
  7. Trees are timeless and wise. They improve as they age from all of their growth, lessons and living; just as we humans do.

Natasha, I would love to learn more about meditation.

Internally Smacking My Head

by Natasha Botkin

Can I just say UGH!!

I was at the Farmer’s Market.  One stand has a dear lady who loves her flowers; her clipping and arranging her flowers and her husband grumbling; her love, but he is there as one day, well he was informed he will stay.  I sat back and waited until the couple was ready…

Today, she asks what would you like; I say what do you believe me to need.  I see her reach for the lupines, and internally smacked my head.  Lupines, they are a beautiful, misunderstood flower.  They love to dance and heal with happiness and bring forth inner strength. The internal headsmack was the other part many do not know….these also bring the message of new opportunities to soon be discovered when one finds the way to have a positive outlook.  Lupine

Thank you so much angels and fairies! Positive outlook, well let’s see in the past month this has been my life….or rather crumble.

Let’s see in a month’s time a family emergency with my autistic son deciding that looming graduation was too intense and made a rash decision that left us in crisis mode. Me battling to obtain what my son needs.  Stop telling me that I am the expert, I need help—he needs help!

Due to this I went on Family Medical Leave, the next day told that my teaching contract would not be renewed (one month prior when I looked into the harassing details that I was harboring on a daily basis-was told I would have a job–no matter what). So much for the no matter what!  I would have filed harassing paperwork, if I was not up to my eyeballs with crisis therapists, mental health therapist, etc.  The unexpected loss of my job, left me with little financially.  To top it all off, my BeLoved TwinFlame went MIA.  Seriously, he has his own stressors, but this is absurd.

A nagging feeling of trying to get my business up and going to support me.  Well, that has been frustrating! Then to really add mischief to all of this, the old lady home, really needs a new caretaker.  In my area, housing is beyond ridiculous, and I am finding traversing the world of help, is there is no help and have been labeled the working poor.

So when the lupine danced my way, I knew it was the divine’s way of saying enough.  Get off the pity party wagon that you are harboring off and on and dance sweet girl.  Have faith, trust and believe that I am doing what you need.

Remarkably, I am peacefully joyful with the latest level up.

Oh dear lupine, thank you for coming my way. I’ve placed you near the bed in hopes that sweet dreams may enter my sleeping realm, peace and comfort will return.  Be the watcher—-wait and see sweet girl, allow love to flow–you’ll be OK.

Much Love, Much Light and Magical Blessings,

Happy May-Day!

May Day Flowers 2015

May-day has always been a special kind of day for me.  I absolutely adore nature, and flowers are a special gift for us all to enjoy.  As a child, you could find me just before May Day in the park or at home, creating May Day Flowers.

Now how I went about it was also quite whimsical.  One never knew if they would receive a yellow dandelion or a dandelion puff to make a magical wish.

Then I would take these special smiles from the fairies, and run up to someone’s door, place it at the door, ring the doorbell and giggle while running away.  I always thought that I was so sneakily clever, only to discover from a neighbor that she loved my special gifts over the years..  As she put it, “dear you were giggling away with such delight, no one had the heart to tell you; you did bring so much joy to those who always needed it; it’s like you knew who needed it the most.”  Awww, my eyes were filled with wonderful tears, and here to think I thought that I was so spry; oh well it is the thought that counts.

May you receive a special gift of love this May Day, whether it is a real flower bouquet, paper flowers or a dear drawing from a special little loved one.

Much Love, Much Light and Magical Blessings,

Natasha
